I’m trading up, one swap at a time, each worth a little more than the last, until the final trade is two Brewers World Series seats — one of them hers.

Two seats at a Brewers World Series game — one of them for my grandma

Why I’m doing this

My grandma lives up on Lake Wissota and has been a die-hard Brewers fan her whole life. She and my grandpa watched every game together for decades — he was every bit as devoted as she is. We lost him not long ago, and this World Series run has lit her up in a way I haven’t seen since. She’s glued to every pitch.

A few years back I surprised her with a trip to watch the Brewers play the Mets at Citi Field. We even got to meet Mark Attanasio that day. She still talks about it.

I want to pull off one more surprise: the two of us in the ballpark for a World Series game, cheering for the team that’s been the heartbeat of her family her whole life.

I don’t have the tickets. I have whatever’s on the ladder above, and I’m betting that enough good trades — and enough good people — can get us there.
